Description: This is truly a beautiful quilt, and we confess that we were not terribly familiar with the pattern until we came across it. For whatever reason, New York Beauty quilts have not been terribly prevalent in Pennsylvania- and we're much the worse for it! It first became known in 1858. The design of the pattern really varies quite a bit-- just Google it and you'll see all the variations. However, it appears as if quarter circles and the sawtooth element are the most frequent attributes.
This quilt has such clean lines to it and the contrast of the simple, solid colors is just amazing.
Excellent piecing; standard to good quilting.
