Description: What a lovely quilt! The fabrics are really chosen wisely to harmonize with each other. The pink is really a salmony pink, and the background fabric isn't the solid white it appears to be. Please click on our link in the paragraph above to see the beigy-muslin colored fabric with the white floral print that serves as the background. You can see it very well in both the pillowcase detail and border detail photos.
This quilt is also lovely because the piecer incorporated both the Giant Dahlia (a flat design on the center medallion of the mattress portion) and the Classic Dahlia (puckered center petals on the pillowcase portion). The border features alternating fabrics and is deliberately uneven-- the pink scallops are shallower than the blue scallops. A bit of quirkiness in such a lovely piece of art!
