Description: This quilt just knocked our socks off when we saw it. What a beautiful design! From the quilting to the piecing, this piece is really gorgeous. This design incorporates two of the oldest quilt patterns, the Broken Star and the Mariner's Compass, with elements of a relatively new pattern, the Spin Star.
The first Mariner's Compass can be traced back to England in 1726. The Broken Star's origin can't be dated, but it too is very old.
The design is so clean yet detailed- the color palette is just beautiful.
Some imperfect bunching in the applique on the pillowcase design makes this quilt a very good value, because otherwise this is a terrific creation. That is relatively minor in comparison. For a close-up, please click on our Detail link above.
